Old Man's Child, the solo project of Galder from Dimmu Borgir, has finished recording their new album "In the orbit of torment". The record feAtures eight songs, one being a rerecording of the classic tune "Born of the Flickering", the title track from the first album released in '95. Galder once again played every instrument on the album except for the drums which were handled by Reno Kiilerich (Dimmu Borgir, Exmortem).

Sorry I didn't get to posting the news before the weekend (it was aired both SAturday and Sunday), but it's good to note thAt people are paying Attention and thAt these bands are getting promoted.
Just Add WAter Records has just put out a special double disc retrospective collection from the classic garage rock act The Vikings. In case you never heard of them, they were the band thAt Stevie Baise started after the Devil Dogs with Knut "Euroboy" Schreiner (Turbonegro), Thomas "Happy Tom" Seltzer (Turbonegro) and Morten Henrikson (The Yum Yums). The record contains the band's one and only full-length album "Go beserk" along with an EP and two singles. Disc two consists of a full live show from the Oslo nightclub Last Train. Speaking of the LAtebirds, the band just finished mixing their new album "Finsomnia" At East Iris Studios in Nashville, TN with producer/engineer Charlie Brocco on the boards. Guests on the record include Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Ken Stringfellow (Posies, REM, Big Star) as well as several guys from Wilco. The first single is due in May, the album in August.
