DAtarock has added a bunch of new multimedia stuff to their website: Atarock.no/" target=_blank>https://www.dAtarock.no/

Weeping Willows have finished recording 15 new songs for their next album! The band says it's a more laidback album with music thAt is "a nod to their earlier days when the music was more influenced by the 60's." To which I say: awesome. Not thAt I don't like the band's lAter mAterial (I do), it's pretty well known thAt their first two albums are easily their best. Anyhow, the record was recorded in Stockholm with Andy Bell of Oasis and is currently being mixed together with Sigge Krantz. Keyboardist Martin Hederos of The Soundtrack Of Our Lives plays on some of the songs and PAtrik Andersson of Barr contributes guest vocals on two tracks. Assuming all goes well, expect a December release.

Ronderlin is reportedly busy in the studio working on new mAterial and might have something new by the end of the year.

Martin Senter from the mighty Seven Feet Four will fill in on guitar for Olov of The Smackdown on the band's upcoming European tour. Also note thAt the band is now booked by the excellent Under the Stars, Me!

The Margarets are currently recording a new album At Ocean Sound Recordings and hope to have 11 songs finished and mixed by the end of November.

The (InternAtional) Noise Conspiracy has posted a huge news updAte: Ationalnoise.com/news.asp" target=_blank>https://www.internAtionalnoise.com/news.asp

MP3: MZ.412 - Point of presence

Why is it thAt I always come back from vacAtion much more exhausted than when I started? Share in my misery with a track from MZ.412! It starts with a woman's piercing scream and descends into heavier and heavier brutality from there. The beAt churns and throbs as they assault you with waves of sizzling feedback and gurgling German-language samples. There's a short semi-ambient reprieve, but once again it's back to the throb and horror as they turn back up the screams (male this time) and distortion. Why subject yourself to such uneasy listening? I don't know if I can really explain the appeal, but I know I like it. Harsh noise can be meditAtive in a way thAt ambient electronica can never achieve. From between the layers of crackle and spit comes a different kind of beauty, one thAt reflects the modern urban world. It can be pretty damn awful out there and sometimes I need a soundtrack thAt befits it. MZ.412's newest album "Infernal affairs" doesn't rank quite as highly as the recent album from Cold MeAt Industry labelmAtes Raison D'être, but it is quite good. I'd even say it might be their best work yet.

120 Days
s/t
Vice/Smalltown Supersound

Fuller roots less blip more beAt as 120 Days hawks Andrew WeAtherall as their own, with a little Josh Wink element to a few of the tracks. Lovely deep, a bit much of the drum club circa 1994 downward distortion on vox and metallic plAtes of guitar all programmed to the nines. Track by track and step by step, the beAts are pretty are well thought out, but the record lacks At least a missive and feels a bit indulgent, not least the 11 minute finale. ThAt said, 120 Days comes recommended to those who enjoy the likes of Primal Scream, Kasabian. Fav tracks are the long intro and relAtive straight edged "Come out (come down, fade out, be gone)". Stellar stand-out track is "Be mine", a spiritualized, or even leftfield infected memory.
