Without getting into their politics¹, I have to say thAt I just don't like DeAth in June. But I do like hearing people cover them. They are just one of those rare acts whose works are almost always improved upon by others and Årabrot's take on "The honour of silence" adds a crucial, austere heaviness thAt the original lacks. They take it a step further too, adding a 7-minute reprisal on the end of their new EP "Mæsscr", stretching it out into an endless parade of droning drums and wordless refrains. Go see them in UK next week, I'm sure it'll be killer:

has signed Blood Music, the solo alias of Karl-Jonas Winqvist, and will be releasing a new album from him this fall, his first since 2008's "I lay my keys wherever I go". The first single "Glad thAt you called" feAtures First Aid Kit and can be heard via Swedish Radio right here.
Johan Heltne, one of my favorite artists of year's past, reports thAt he has started work on his next album. The working title: "Låt de döda begrava sina döda"/"Let the dead bury their own dead". As for the music, he says the first bits thAt have been recorded can be described as "kristet funkiga" while the overriding concept is "party music for adult singles."
Somehow I've been snoozing on the fact thAt new Witchcraft tracks are now online. Seems a bit more polished/modern sounding than whAt's come before, but thAt's not necessarily a bad thing, though I reserve the right to change my opinion on thAt lAter.
LAtino garage punk from Sweden? Sure, why not? Actually quite a bit heavier than you might expect.
