Via Supertanker comes word that Singvogel will release "Hotellet Brænder", their album they made with poet Peter Laugesen, on August 14. "If you like your rock music with a heavy dose of horns, clarinets, vintage synths and slightly mad lyrics you do not want to miss out," they say.

"This unique Norwegian, Greek, Saami, Danish, Bergen combo has mixed up a concoction based on a truly eclectic recipe. Under the leadership of energetic Bergen drummer, percussionist and composer Ole Hamre, this hyper-active collective fuses Balkan influences with Saami chanting, gypsy melodies, traditional Norwegian folk-music and a multitude of other genres."

MIC Norway has posted another entry in their long-running Listen to Norway Preview Series, this one on Fri Flyt.

Due to incredible demand and fears of piracy, the new Lene Marlin single "You Weren't There" has been released today. Listen to a sample from here. The track comes from her long-awaited comeback album "Another Day", due out September 22.

DigitalMetal.com has posted an interview with Swedish prog-rockers The Flower Kings, the first review I've seen of the new Amorphis greatest hits comp/DVD "Chapters", plus a review of Nightrage, a newish band with members Tomas Lindberg (ex-At the Gates, Skitsystem, etc.), Gus G. (Dream Evil), Per Jensen (The Haunted), Marios Iliopoulos (ex-Exhumation) and Tom Englund (Evergrey).

Lambgost.com has posted a review of the new Nightrage, too.

Pitchforkmedia.com has posted their (somewhat predictably) scornful review of The Caesars "39 Minutes of Bliss (In An Otherwise Meaningless World)".

Webzine And the Sound has posted an interview with up-and-coming singer/songwriter José Gonzáles. (in Swedish)

Go here to download four mp3 tracks from the new band The Je Ne Sais Quoi. Ex-members from Your Halo is a Radar, kinda post-punk/dancey in sound, and recommended. The band plans to release a four-track 7" EP sometime this summer.

Edge of Sanity has revealed that guitarists Mike Wead (Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Firegod) and Simon Johansson (Memory Garden, Abstrakt Algebra, Firegod) will be making appearances on the groups upcoming comeback album "Crimson II", due late summer on Black Mark Records.

Via the pHinnWeb list comes this online album for download: https://lemodem.dogma00.org/

This is something completely different. Neat, fun, melancholic, genious very traditional music:skiffle, jenkka, humppa (jenkka and humppa are traditional finnish folk-dancemusic) and others made by Riku Ahlsten (also plays keyboards in Finnish IDM group DDR Rhythm). "slavic folk-pop, skiffle, big-beat and reggae-influenced humppa"

Definitely entertaining methinks.
