Nicolai Dunger finished up the album he's doing with Mercury Rev a few weeks ago. No release date yet, but we can probably expect to see it around late fall or early next year.

Lots of news today from The Hellacopters! Looks like they're heading to Brazil in September and maybe even to Australia afterwards, probably sometime in October. They're also putting together some new releases, as always. "Cream of the Crap! Vol. 2" is coming together for a January 2004 release and it will contain 22 tracks recorded between 1995 and 2000. They've also recorded "Pack of Lies" for a Nomads tribute and "Eighteen" for an Alice Cooper one. And that's not all! They're also doing a split 7" with Adam West from the US.

But the biggest news has to be the release of the "Goodnight Cleveland" tour documentary on DVD on September 29 through Escapi. A region 1 (US) version comes out through Music Video Distributors on November 11. The full details:

Detailed Description:

The Hellacopters: Goodnight Cleveland is a fly on the wall documentary following the Hellacopters on their 2002 tour of America. Informed by the techniques of cinema verité and direct cinema developed in the 1960's by master documentary filmmakers such as the Maysle brothers, the band is allowed the space to do what they do without intrusions of any kind from the filmmaker, allowing for glimpses into the magical and mundane moments of everyday life in a hard working action rock band abroad. The Hellacopters: Goodnight Cleveland is a relaxed and open-handed portrait of a band on the road. Essential viewing for anyone pondering a career in the music business, or anyone merely curious.

The recording of the semi-acoustic album is scheduled to take place August 21-22 at the LUX Theater in Nijmegen, Netherlands and there are still limited tickets available.
