Norway's Smalltown Supersound to release a new album from Sonic Youth. No foolin! The official word:
"We are extremely happy to announce that we are going to release an album with our favourite band Sonic Youth! The album is titeled "Hidros 3" and is written by Mats Gustafsson for Sonic Youth, and performed by Mats, Sonic Youth, our guitar hero Loren Connors, Lotta Mehlin, David Stackenas and Lindha Kallerdahl. Sonic Youth has been our big inspiration since we started Smalltown Supersound, and getting to release this album is like a dream come true. The album contains 9 tracks and 66 minutes of music with some fantastic vocal tracks with Kim Gordon. The artwork for the album is designed by our own Kim Hiorthøy. The CD will be released the 13th of September and is mixed by Mats Gustafsson. The vinyl version will come later and will be mixed by Jim O` Rourke.
