Death is always tragic, but when we lose an artist with the heart, devotion and beauty of someone like Gustaf Kjellvander, the whole world suffers their absence. Gustaf lived for music and was one of the rare souls who could do nothing else, though sometimes that meant living to excess. I'm glad to have known both the man and his work and am heartbroken at the news that he is now gone. Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed!
has announced that their reissue of famed death-metal act Sarcasm's discography on triple-vinyl + 7" is on track for release on July 15 and is now available for preorder: https://www.myspace.com/tothedeath666/blog/543299215
The collection includes all 6 demos the band recorded plus their never-released 1994 LP "Never after", a bonus 7" of rehearsal tracks and a 16-page booklet documenting the band's history before they broke up and members went on to form Skitsystem. Only 100 copies, so get on it quick (but save one for me?).
Quality trallpunk from Fubbix, a new (?) band on whose album "Utanför systemet" was just released this week. I'm into it, totally achieves the right balance of rawness and melody.

Miasmal end-of-tour show last night here in Olympia: sick. My expectations were met and exceeded. Sanctuary in Blasphemy were really good too. Tonight: Martyrdöd in Seattle with a stacked lineup that includes Walls, No Statik, Crazy Spirit, Slowmotions and, for some reason, my own band Criminal Code. Not my doing, but it's not as if I'm gonna complain. Besides, it's always nice to be playing a show you'd be attending regardless. See you there?
