Firefox AK reports that she recorded five new songs recently and is already planning on returning to the studio in late November to do more. She also says that a new video by her friends and old bandmates Latour should be ready for release early next month.

Export Music Sweden, the Consulate General of Sweden and Sirius Satellite Radio are presenting a special Swedish Music Showcase show at the Times Square Hard Rock Cafe in New York on October 27. Scheduled to perform are The Ark, WhiteSilver and Kristoffer Ragnstam. I was actually thinking about flying out, but the date's just a bit too close to the closing date on my new house purchase. JR Ewing's most recent album "Maelstrom" will finally get a mainland European release via the new German label Motor Music. Look for it December 2. As for the UK, the release will be handled by Plastic Head sublabel Golf Records, joining friends and countrymen Amulet who are already on the label. It comes out there on November 14. As for the US, nothing has been settled on yet, but it should hopefully be worked out soon.

Bone Voyage Recording Company, the self-run label of cult Finnish garage rockers 22-Pistepirkko, has announced that they have bought back the rights for a number of 22PP's early releases and will reissuing them in new, expanded editions on both CD and vinyl. They have also decided to branch out and sign a few new and up-and-coming artists to the label as well as all 22PP-related sideprojects and art activities. Here's the updated release schedule:
