MP3: Miss Li - Take a shower

Miss Li is on her third full-length album in less than 12 months, an amazing output of material. Surprisingly, she's managed to maintain a very consistent level of quality throughout. Unnecessary? A little redundant? Perhaps, but she's always incredibly entertaining and each new record surprises by achieving a new level of sauciness. One such highlight on "Songs of a rag doll" has got to be "Take a shower" with its heavy klezmer influence and rapidly snowballing tempo. It's hard not to get caught up in a song like that, especially with the come-on of the title line. And then, once those Cossack-style heys! come in towards the end, you might as well get up and dance. It's irresistable!

I wanna

Being a huge fan of bands like The Clash, the Sex Pistols, and the Ramones, I was pretty excited to see The Vigilantes' record on the It's A Trap! review list. While "I wanna" definitely has its moments, and really is a solid record, it feels like a pointless excursion through territory already explored. It's more of a Rancid-esque record than anything approaching the dynamic upheaval of sound that bled from Britain and New York city in the 1970s. While there's nothing really wrong with "I wanna", I can't help but feel your money would be better spent completing your Clash collection or finally picking up that Buzzcocks record you've been meaning to for years now.

Low Frequency in Stereo recently mixed four new tracks, but are unsure as to what to do with them. Otherwise, they plan to enter Duper Studio in Bergen, Norway on January 23 to properly begin work on their next album.
